Dear Ro;
Lois and I have such warm and fond memories of Albert, you and the shop.
Smelling the roasting beans well before walking in. Lively chatting Unbelievable introductions to beans from exotic origins.

Albert was truly a visionary. We are both sorry for your loss, but SO glad to have been enriched by knowing you both!

Reading Coffee is the Coffee Company that started my Coffee journey.I refused to drink coffee until I was 30 ,but One day 20 plus years ago I entered the Greatest Bagel shop in Pennsylvania " New York Bagelry"on 2720 West Lawn, Pennsylvania and smelled the greatest Aroma ever of Coffee flavors “Jamaican Me Crazy” and “Jazzy Java”. I was hooked.I went to “New York Bagelry” almost every day that Fall for the Coffee and Bagels..I gained 30 lbs,but I enjoyed every sip of coffee and bite of bagels. So I want to Thank Mr. Albert Vanmaanen for making my mornings more enjoyable and for giving me a reason not to hit the snooze button and get up earlier. Your Coffee will Always be better than the rest of the Wawa and Starbucksm

We were sad to hear of Albert’s passing. He left a lasting impression with us, and yes, as the story goes, he was passionate about the business of coffee and doing things right. He left quite a legacy for all to enjoy.

Dear Rosemary, I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m the guy from Brooklyn who used to stop by to buy coffee when I used to come to the area a lot. Albert was delightful, and I always enjoyed our chats. May the memories shared by those who were fond of him bring you comfort.
